DANSRESA TILL MOÇAMBIQUE!

Welcome on a life time adventure:
DANCE TRIP TO MOZAMBIQUE
31 of December 2017 - 13 of January 2018

After a first successful dance trip to Mozambique we are now happy to invite people on a second dance trip taking place this winter.

During two weeks you will have the chance to be a part of this growing cultural exchange between Sweden and Mozambique and dance together with first level professional and experienced Mozambican dancers and musicians.

This is an unique opportunity to learn both the traditional Mozambican dances as well as the modern street dances of Mozambique. A mix of classes with both old and new dances will be tied together during this trip.
Throughout the trip we worked closely with the well-known dance company Hodi Maputo Afro Swing and we dance 2 classes per day Monday to Friday for two weeks!

One week will be spent on beautiful Inhaca and the second week in Maputo so that the visitors will able to see different sides of Mozambique. Welcome to enjoy the beautiful beaches on the sub-tropical island Inhaca, explore the vibrant city Maputo and dance with talented dancers, all in one trip!

INHACA: A STUNNING OASIS ON THE EAST AFRICAN COAST
The first week on the dance trip we spend on the sub-tropical island Inhaca, a beautiful paradise island just two hours away from Maputo with boat, where the group will experience the island life and interact with the people living on the Island.

We dance twice a day, some days on the beach, and the classes will be held by talented dancers from Hodi Maputo Afro Swing and fantastic musicians from Banda Hodi. We will also collaborate with the local dance company of Inhaca which consists of many young talents.

In between the dance classes you will have the chance to do excursions around the island as well as go to the the Portuguese island just outside Inhaca. You can spot flamingos and even dolphins if lucky!

MAPUTO: A VIBRANT CITY AND THE CAPITAL OF MOZAMBIQUE
The second week on the dance trip we switch scenery to Maputo to show the diversity of Mozambique and the many different sides that its capital has to offer. Maputo with its waterside settings and wide avenues lined with jacaranda and flame trees is a city rich of culture and full of life!

This week we continue working with the talented dancers from Hodi Maputo Afro Swing and we dance two classes a day, Monday to Friday. You will have a chance to explore the city, go to markets, relax in pool areas and interact with people living in the neighbourhood Polana Caniço, home of many of the dancers of Hodi Maputo Afro Swing.

The week will be finished off with a final show with performances from the dance company and the group who came on the trip.
